April 18th was the first of what I hope to be a recurring event!  Six women were involved in an amazing day of yoga, meditation, good food and friendship.

After a meet and greet with tea and getting the space set up, the day started with a gently guided vinyasa flow class. Each participant had the opportunity to practice at their own pace in their own way, while being offered the opportunity to challenge themselves.  We learned about “free writing”, which is a technique I use prior to meditation to help with focus. The main idea is to just take a predetermined time period and write. There doesn’t need to be a theme just , just let the brain empty to allow you to meditate after without the distraction of all the “junk” caught in your mind.  This first session was concluded with a silent meditation.

After our first yoga practice each participant then had the opportunity to have an individual Reiki session, while the rest moved on to other endeavors of the day.

Lunch was an avocado pesto over veggie zoodles and greens, Thai quinoa salad with ginger peanut dressing and a decadent raw caramel slice. Tea was available throughout the day.

After lunch we learned about essential oils and the many benefits in a natural healing source.  Once our food settled, we headed out for a hike to the Beuna Vista, a beautiful overlook of the Mississippi River.

After returning from our hike, we concluded our day with a gentle restorative yoga class and a full body scan meditation.

This was probably the quickest 5 hours ever! It seemed as if we just started our day and it was over and we were headed home. We all left rejuvenated and ready to tackle spring. It is so important to take time for yourself. Time to take care of your mind, body and soul.

You can schedule your own rejuvenation day with friends, or watch the website for our next scheduled day!  This is a great idea for young moms, a bridal party, women with hectic schedules or whoever just needs a day to relax, restore and rejuvenate….

Have a great day,

Jennifer
